A Hidden Gem In Hobe Sound

Have you ever visited the Tunnel of Trees in Hobe Sound?

Ironically, even some of the most native South Floridians have not even heard of this majestical place.

Centrally located between Jupiter and Stuart, Hobe Sound is home to some of the most beautiful natural spots in the state. Residents and visitors can relax at Hobe Sound Beach and explore the wildlife and scenery of the Loxahatchee River, as well as getting out to Jonathan Dickson State Park and the Hobe Sound Nature Center.

Still, one of the most impressive sites in all of Florida can be found along Hobe Sound’s famous Bridge Road, east of US 1 as you approach the Intracoastal Waterway. The road connects the mainland of Hobe Sound to the shores of Jupiter Island and appears to be something straight from a story book as you drive through.

Centuries-old Banyan trees line each side of the two-way road to create a romantic canopy of draping greenery. The towering tree tunnels can be experienced by driving through, or even finding somewhere safe to park and walk the sidewalk straight to the beach.

As one of the most environmentally sensitive areas of Martin County, Hobe Sound offers a treasure of natural beauty throughout the area. Not far from the Tunnel of Trees you will find its own unique collection of antique shops, funky eateries, art galleries, and more.

So next time you’re in the area, be sure to make time to enjoy the natural beauty of Hobe Sound and its surrounding areas. If you’d like a more personal tour of Hobe Sound or looking for suggestions on where to eat, shop and explore, I’m happy to help you!
