Local Events in Palm Beach County in August

July 27, 2018

School is almost back in session but the fun continues across the county! Here’s some of my top events for this month:

Dog Days – Bring your four legged friends out for a baseball game at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium on Thursday, August 9 and Saturday, August 30. Cheer on the Palm Beach Cardinals and Jupiter Hammerheads while supporting local dog shelters! Pooch passes are $5 and game tickets for their humans are as low as $7! All pooches receive free ice cream and treats – some even enjoy hot dogs and other ballpark staples! If you’re looking to adopt a new best friend, other pups will be in attendance ready for a new home!  For more information: https://bit.ly/2LkXC7G

Back To School Tax Free Weekend – Florida’s 2018 Back-to-school sales tax holiday is set for August 3 to August 5 this year. Parents and students can save sales tax on clothing, footwear, and certain accessories selling for $60 or less per item, as well as certain school supplies selling for $15 or less per item.  For a list of FAQs regarding the weekend, visit: https://bit.ly/2L2COS7.

Coral Sky Amphitheatre – The month of August boasts EIGHT spectacular shows at this incredible venue in West Palm Beach. Some of the biggest names in music and entertainment will be in our own backyard this month including Pentatonix, Imagine Dragons, Kevin Hart, Counting Crows, Miranda Lambert and more! Screen on the Green – Taking place on the 2nd Friday of every month at 7pm, this FREE event transforms the great lawn on the West Palm Beach Waterfront into a theater under the stars! Bring blankets, chairs and your favorite movie snacks with you to this family-friendly event. Concessions are available on-site as well as your choice from the fabulous restaurants located downtown and on Clematis Street! This month’s feature is Star Wars: The Last Jedi.  For more information, visit:  https://bit.ly/2jr9ZfO
